Working together to market UK Energy

The UK Energy website has been developed as part of an international marketing strategy for the sector.

The strategy was developed and launched in December 2007 by UK Trade & Investment in consultation with UK businesses, stakeholders and Government department and agencies.  Together we are working to ultimately achieve the aim of increased international sales by UK businesses and an increased flow to the UK of high value inward investment.

To this end a cross government, cross industry, cross UK Energy sector marketing strategy implementation board was set up in May 2008 to drive forward the strategy recommendations.  One of the recommendations was to set up an all encompassing website to market the UK Energy sector internationally and at the same time provide an online marketing toolkit to support the UK Energy network in all of its marketing efforts.

The implementation of this recommendation is split into two phases.  Phase one relates to the functions of this site – the UK Energy marketing toolkit, for use by the UK Energy network.  Phase two will see the further development of this site to showcase and market UK excellence, capacity and expertise internationally, providing the first integrated mapping tool of the UK’s large, diverse and growing energy business.

The implementation board, titled the UK Energy Excellence Board is guiding the development of this recommendation and the overall strategy and will continue to work closely with the wide network of energy stakeholders to represent the wide ranging business of Energy.

The foundation for the strategy is the UK Trade & Investment strategy Prosperity in a Changing World and the overarching compelling message for the UK - Springboard for Global Growth.  Click here to learn more.
