Strategy objectives

The overriding objective of the strategy is to speak with a single compelling voice across the world, positioning the UK as a destination of choice for energy trade and investment.

Three key principles support the aim:

  • a coordinated, well-planned approach;
  • business and government working together;
  • the alignment of marketing communications under the UK message “A Springboard for Global Growth”.

The strategy will mobilise marketing capability across the sector so that everyone helps celebrate and promote UK Energy innovation and achievement. That means:

  • Agreeing on and communicating strengths and main messages
  • Sharing insights, knowledge and best practice
  • Integrating the promotion of trade and investment across all energy sectors
  • Creating a framework that a range of partner organisations can implement, and bringing together government, business and research organisations for maximum impact.

Success will see the UK Energy sector:

  • Extend its expertise across energy sub-sectors to meet the evolving challenges of the global energy landscape
  • Help emerging, cutting-edge businesses learn from more established sectors
  • Boost IT research and development expertise, and bring new ideas to market more quickly.
  • Build on the UK’s strong competitive position, enhancing its international reputation and bringing more investment and trade.
