Samir Brikho

Chief Executive

Age 50, Samir Brikho has been chief executive of AMEC plc since October 2006.

During his 20 month tenure at AMEC plc, Samir has spearheaded a strategy to realise the company vision of being a leading supplier of high value consultancy, engineering and project management services to defined market segments within the world’s energy and industrial process industries.

He was previously a member of the Group Executive Committee of ABB Ltd., Switzerland, Head of the Power Systems Division and Chairman of ABB Lummus Global.

Since 1983, Samir has held various senior management positions at ABB and Alstom in Sweden, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium and France.

Born in Beirut in 1958, Samir is Lebanese by birth but his family later moved to Sweden where he holds citizenship. Samir holds a Master of Science degree in Thermal Technology from the Royal High School of Technology in Stockholm, Sweden, and is also a graduate of the YMP Program from Insead, France, and the Senior Executive Program from Stanford University, US.

Samir is actively involved in working to bridge community divides in the Middle East. He is a founding member of the Palestine International Business Forum PIBF, a multi-lateral forum supported by the Swedish government to promote balanced trade and business relations between Israeli and Palestinian private sectors and the broader International business community.  Samir also sits on the advisory board of the School of Oriental and African Studies in London.

Samir has two children and his interests include sports and music.

EnCore Completes Asset Sale To Egdon UK focused exploration and production company EnCore Oil has completed the transfer of the group's onshore UK assets together with its interest in the offshore UK Ceres gas field to Egdon Resources in return for a consideration of 39.2 million ordinary shares in Egdon.

Ngiri-2 Well Encounters Over 40mt Net Oil Bearing Reservoir: Tullow Tullow Oil has reported that the Ngiri-2 appraisal well, which is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 1, has encountered over 40mt of net oil bearing reservoir in two zones within an overall 131mt gross oil bearing interval.
