UKTI has brought together business people with international trade and investment experience coupled with extensive experience of the energy sector to:
- Monitor and control the progress of the strategy implementation at the strategic level
- Set up and direct Working Groups
- Overall management and evaluation of activities
- Co-ordinate stakeholder input and delivery
- Identify, secure and advise allocation of resources
- Identify political or economic hurdles to the success of the strategy
The Chairman of the UK Energy Excellence Board is Samir Brikho, Chief Executive of AMEC plc.

Age 50, Samir Brikho has been chief executive of AMEC plc since October 2006.

Neil was appointed an Executive Director of the board of AMEC plc in January 2009. Neil is also Chief Operating Officer of AMEC’s Natural Resources and Power & Process divisions.

Dr Farley has worked with Doosan Babcock and its predecessors since 1974, initially within the Research & Development Department and later in the Technology Centre, becoming Director of Technology in 1998 and Director of Technology Policy Liaison in 2002.

Colin joined the Board of Scottish and Southern Energy as Power Systems Director in January 2001, becoming Chief Operating Officer in October 2002.

Robert Lane is Head of Regulated Industries at CMS Cameron McKenna LLP and has been advising in the energy sector for over 20 years.
Professor Jim R McDonald

Professor Jim McDonald spent 7 years within the UK Electricity Supply Industry. He joined Strathclyde University in 1984 ultimately being appointed as the Rolls-Royce Professor of Electrical Power Systems in 1993.

Technology Strategy Board , Lead technologist – Energy Generation and Supply
Filomena joined the Technology Strategy Board in August 2007 as Lead Technologist for the Energy Generation and Supply Area.
Rt Hon. Brian Wilson
Rt Hon. Brian Wilson is a former Labour MP who held five Ministerial posts between 1997 and his retirement from politics in 2005.

Ngiri-2 Well Encounters Over 40mt Net Oil Bearing Reservoir: Tullow Tullow Oil has reported that the Ngiri-2 appraisal well, which is located in the Butiaba region of Uganda Block 1, has encountered over 40mt of net oil bearing reservoir in two zones within an overall 131mt gross oil bearing interval.
